Marshall Islands
Algorand was selected to power the first national digital currency, known as the SOV, which will circulate alongside the US dollar and help the Marshall Islands efficiently operate in the global economy.
The Fondazione Ugo Bordoni (FUB) was founded in 1952 and named after engineering professor Ugo Bordoni of the University of Rome. The Foundation supports scientific research and applications of telecommunications and information technology. Established within the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, FUB has a long-standing tradition of research and applications in telecommunications sector. Through fruitful exchange between basic and applied research FUB has been able to police technological landscape developments well in advance, combining studies in the field of ICT with the design and implementation of innovative services for government bodies, and with the identification of countrywide system policies in the field.
Fondazione Ugo Bordoni’s focus on Algorand is driven by the technical advantages it offers over other available blockchains, advantages that make Algorand particularly interesting as a component to be used in experimenting with innovative applications and services for citizens, businesses and public administrations. Fondazione Ugo Bordoni is committed to supporting and implementing the activities of 5G, in the investigation of the potential of Artificial Intelligence and in the design and management of digital networks and services. Algorand was the most promising platform and best met the stringent requirements of security, efficiency, real decentralization and low energy expenditure necessary for future FUB's initiatives.
